Enabling Individuals and Organizations to Soar!

Organizations continue to talk about how important talent is to their success and the need for inclusion, but many organizations and their leaders often don’t know HOW to leverage that talent and create a work environment that enables all people to be their best and do their best work.

Inclusion is the HOW for organizational success. It is HOW:

  • Individuals can bring their full selves to the workplace and feel valued, seen, and respected for who they are.
  • Teams can interact more effectively to drive greater collaboration and innovation.
  • An organization aligns its culture with its strategies for higher operational performance.
  • The organization’s culture makes it safe enough for people to bring their different ideas, perspectives, and talents so they can soar.

Bringing more than 40 years of experience in creating and implementing successful large systems change strategies, Fred Miller and Judith Katz will explore the fundamentals of their system change efforts and how they have used Inclusion as the HOW® for organization transformation.

Fred & Judith will discuss case examples from their work with clients, as well as a first look into our new book, Safe Enough to Soar, exploring the four levels of interaction safety.

About Your Presenters

Frederick A. Miller and Judith H. Katz

For more than 30 years, Fred and Judith have been working individually and together to transform organizations and the ways people interact with one another within them.

They started their business partnership in 1985, Judith coming from faculty positions at the University of Oklahoma and San Diego State, and Fred from management positions at Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. It was a major turning point in both their lives.

As CEO and Executive Vice President (respectively) for The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, Inc.—one of Consulting magazine’s Seven Small Jewels in 2010—they have partnered with Fortune 100 and other companies, universities, governmental agencies, municipalities, and non-profit organizations to create organizations in which the level of interaction safety elevates the quality of interactions, leverages people’s differences, and transforms workplaces into growth-and-learning environments where people’s talents are unleashed, results are accelerated, and productivity soars.

Through their thought leadership and practical approaches for changing workplaces, they have brought their unique perspective, passion, and energy to make a difference in organizations that few can match.

Together they have also co-authored:

  • Safe Enough to Soar: Accelerating Trust, Inclusion and Collaboration in the Workplace (2018)
  • Opening Door to Teamwork and Collaboration: 4 Keys That Change Everything (2013)
  • Be BIG: Step Up, Step Out, Be Bold (2008)
  • The Inclusion Breakthrough: Unleashing the Real Power of Diversity (2002)

Judith and Fred have each been honored with several of their field’s most distinguished awards. In 2007, Profiles in Diversity Journal named them two of 40 Pioneers of Diversity, and in 2012, they were each honored as Legends of Diversity by the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals. Among other awards, Fred has received the Lifetime Achievement Award and Service to the Network Awards presented by the Organization Development Network (ODN), and Winds of Change Award from The Forum on Workplace Inclusion; and Judith has received ODN’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Outstanding Achievement in Global Work Award and Communicating OD Knowledge along with the Cultural Competency Award from DTUI. Fred has served on Ben and Jerry’s and Day & Zimmermann’s Corporate Boards and Judith is currently a member of the Fielding Graduate University Board of Trustees.
