Barry Oshry - From Seeing the Possibilities of Organization to Seeing the Possibilities of Culture - Live Via Zoom

Barry Oshry, in a Live session on Zoom, traces the arc of his work over the past four decades from his fundamental work with organizations to his most recent work focused on the meeting of disparate cultures.

“Underlying all my work has been the following: We humans are the most social of social creatures, members of the widest variety of social systems. Yet, we are blind to how the structure and processes of these systems shape our consciousness. And that blindness is costly to ourselves, our relationships, and our systems.  My work with organizational life and, more recently with the meeting of cultures, has been to transform system blindness into system sight as a means of opening up new creative and productive possibilities.”

About Your Presenter

Barry is a thought leader in the workings of human systems and a pioneer in the development of high-impact experiential education programs. His six-day Power Lab has provided transformative experiences for organizational and institutional leaders from across the globe, and has been the subject of the prize-winning documentary, Power Lab: Living in New Hope.

He is also the developer of the Organization Workshop and the When Cultures Meet Workshop. Barry’s books – among them The Possibilities of Organization, Seeing Systems, Leading Systems, The Systems Letter, and, most recently, Context Context Context - have provided fundamental insights into social system life.
