OD Toolkit Series - PMI, Lean, Projects, Initiatives and Organization Development (OD) – How to use OD to succeed!
As an internal Organization Development Manager armed with new skills from a recent Master’s Degree and blessed with a savoy mentor, Chris Crosby worked on over 20 projects and Initiatives over four years with one common denominator ─ They all succeeded!
The projects included –
- A twenty location and seven country Oracle implementation
- Six R&D projects
- New Bottle Cap Machines
- Plant Integrations and Mergers
- Integrating Lean with change principles in a manufacturing plant
What did he do? Chris applied a set of systemic and socio-technical components and used tried and true OD intervention’s to align and govern each project.
In this training participants will learn:
- How to align any organization to a project or initiative.
- The core social technical components of project management and why it matters.
- How to use a socio-technical check list.
- What is effective project governance?
- How to recognize and use socio-technical components.
- How to analyze a current project or initiative and develop strategies to increase implementation success.

About Your Instructor
Chris Crosby is the President of the Board at PNODN. He is also a consultant and author of two recent books, Strategic Organizational Alignment, published in 2016, and Strategic Engagement, published in 2016. He is first and foremost a practitioner with internal and external experience. He has held an adjunct faculty position at Saybrook University/Leadership Institute of Seattle and guest faculty at Martin University in Indianapolis.
Chris is an expert in systems thinking applied to the workplace. He uses his unique understanding of systems thinking and authority in the workplace to create organization alignment, implementation structures, and people processes for various forms of organization change. He also develops leadership programs for various clients. His programs utilize a unique industry adapted Skills Training Group (T-Group) as his primary experiential learning method to train leaders to engage their workforce in such a way that builds ownership, alignment and ultimately better business results.
