OD Workshop Series - Designing Work that Works

Jerry Talley

This training will be conducted live via Zoom. The zoom meeting details will be sent out prior to the training.

Those of us in "people fields" (OD, HR, Training, Managment, Coaching) are so focused on the employees' experience that we forget organizations are formed to do work. So our toolkit for designing work is underdeveloped. But most of the distress we find among employees is spawned by poorly designed work; it is not remedied through training, team building, rewards, management behavior, values clarification, or the like.

The exciting thing is that designing work well provides a way to engage and empower employees so we create a more humane community as well as a more effective organization!

By the end of this program, you'll be able to:

    • Able to apply a more sophisticated definition of work process.
    • Can identify the key elements of work beyond mere procedures.
    • See how to bring workers back into their proper role as co-creators rather than just operators.
