September Presentation - Developing the Intentional Servant-Leader: Assessing Organizational and Personal Performance

Dr. Holly Hall

This training will be conducted live via Zoom.

Effectiveness and efficiency of organizations is significantly shaped by approaches and practices of leadership. Servant leadership has emerged as an effective leadership style that prioritizes the full potential of the employee. Servant leaders demonstrate compassion and altruistic calling, traits which foster a strong workforce with cohesiveness, collaboration, and sustainable relationships. Servant leadership improves employee’s engagement and retention and fosters a work environment that permits disagreements and rewards truth telling and engenders constructive accountability.

Highly engaged employees are less likely to experience burnout than their traditional counterparts, use less sick leave, and stay with their organization longer. Higher engagement also predicts significant positive outcomes for teams and organizations. In fact, the direct relationship between the manager and the employee may be the most impactful determinant of an employee’s engagement level.

Learning Objectives

  • Discussions of personal and professional servant leadership behaviors and its effects on others.
  • Self-evaluation of servant leadership behaviors.
  • Identify servant leadership behavior in organizational leaders.
