PNODN Workshop - Wrestling with Tiny Monsters: Using applied neuroscience to "play" with our fears - and enhance our influence and collaboration

Jennifer Dawson-Miller Janell Morgan Ndegwa
Tiny monsters are everywhere... and yet it’s so hard to see them hiding in the corners of our minds! What happens when we find a seriously fun way to uncover blocking patterns and deep fears that prevent us from growth? Find out in this fast-paced interactive workshop, led by a dynamic duo, Jennifer Dawson-Miller (they/she) and Janell Morgan Ndegwa (she/her). Participants will learn about the concept of Neuroception, the way the brain perceives threats, and experience several ‘Liberating Structures’ - rapid cycling, inclusive, scalable, and engaging techniques for group facilitation. We will explore a Liberating Structure in Development called ‘Tiny Monsters’ as well a large group activity called ‘Wise Crowds’ where we tap into the collective wisdom, and 1-2-4-All, where we process and debrief, both alone and together. Don’t worry, the presentation portion will be brief – just enough Neuroscience not to bore you. Participants will be able to immediately apply these concepts and activities in their everyday work.
