ODN Webinar: VISUALIZING PROCESS: Finding the Patterns That Connect

September 12, 2013 12:30 PM | Ann Baus (Administrator)

We are excited to announce several new additions to the OD Network's Center for Professional Development.

We have heard loud and clear that you want additional professional development opportunities that are cutting edge, practical, and informative.

Based on your feedback we are starting several new programs for OD Network members:

Webinars: We are launching a new series of webinars that will bring innovators and thought leaders to you in 90 minute sessions dealing with concepts and ideas that are foundational to your practice and will define the future of the field.

We pleased to announce that our first webinar, entitled "VISUALIZING PROCESS: Finding the Patterns That Connect" will feature David Sibbet, renowned systems thinker and graphic facilitator, and Lisa Kimball, futurist and former OD Network board member. Among other topics, David will explain how the Drexler-Sibbet Team Performance Model reveals behavior patterns based on systems theory.

This 90-minute interactive webinar is especially helpful for experienced OD practitioners, as well as new practitioners and students. Key learning and takeaways from this session:

  • Short background on the Visual Leadership series for Wiley & Sons beginning to define the world of process visualization.
  • Story of the shift from thinking about form and structure as what integrates organization to appreciating the process and purpose are more fundamental.
  • Visual demonstration of how to visualize process in meetings, teams and org change.
  • Introduction to the theory behind The Grove's work: The Theory of Process by Arthur M. Young
  • Exploring the implications for OD of truly understanding the nature of process.

Mark your calendar now for Thursday, September 12, 2013, 2:30 PM (Central Time), 90 minutes. Click here for information and to register.

Many thanks to Kris Lea and Professional Development Committee members Tanjia Coleman, Denise Easton, Janelle Farris, Barret Horne, Judy Weber-Lucas, and Carlee Wolfe who are leading this effort and creating a wonderful program for our members.

Coaching and Mentoring Programs: In the coming weeks, we'll be launching two programs for OD Network members, one to provide one-on-coaching, and one to provide one-on-one mentoring. This program will bring together the experienced members of the Network with those who are just entering the field or looking for more guidance about OD.

Many thanks to Denny Gallagher and committee members Chris Brabon, Karen James, Hester Darcy and Page Anne Smith who have developed this program for the Network and which we're proud to get underway soon.
